About us

AIXEMTEC is a specialized provider of high-precision assembly systems for optical systems and part of the Schunk Group. Founded in 2016 as a spin-off of Fraunhofer IPT, the company has extensive expertise in the precision assembly of optical components. At our Herzogenrath site, we develop and implement customized solutions for automated assembly processes in high-tech environments—from design and equipment engineering to assembly and manufacturing services. In this way, we enable efficient production processes and shorter time-to-market while reducing investment risk.

The Schunk Group is a globally operating technology group with more than 10,000 employees in 26 countries. The company is a leading supplier of products made from high-tech materials—such as carbon, technical ceramics, and sintered metal—as well as machinery and systems, ranging from environmental simulation and climate technology to ultrasonic welding and optical machinery. As a foundation-owned company, our aspirations and objectives have remained unchanged for more than one hundred years: the healthy development of the company, the preservation of independence, financial stability, profitable growth, and a global presence.
